WORSHIP
Sunday School at 9:30 a.m.
Sunday Worship Service at 10:30 a.m.

Cayce UMC offers a number of opportunities to join in worship. Pastor Ben Herlong leads the worship services, and we are blessed with a strong and compelling music program.

Nursery

A nursery is provided during worship for children ages birth to 3 years old.

Special Services

Christian holidays like Christmas and Easter are exciting times at Cayce UMC, and we frequently offer other special worship services and events during the year.  Be sure to check our web site frequently for more information.

Sacrament of Holy Communion

Offered the first Sunday in February, April, June, August, October and December at 10:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary.  Also offered during the Maundy Thursday and Christmas Eve services.

Baptism

One of the joys for our pastor and members is bringing new members to our family, whether as a child or an adult.  Visit Mark C. Trotter’s explanation of A United Methodist Understanding of Baptism at umc.org.

Confirmation

Confirmation occurs when a person decides to respond to God’s grace with an intentional commitment, publicly reaffirming his or her baptismal vows before the congregation. Most confirmands are youth between the ages of eleven and fourteen, who have attended confirmation class where they learn the meaning of Christian faith and teachings of The United Methodist Church.  Confirmand classes are held at Cayce UMC each spring. To request a baptism or to be a part of a confirmand class, please contact the church office, 794-3200.

With all the different worship styles from which we have to choose today, I am glad that Jesus made worship simple.  First, wherever two or three are gathered in His name, He is with us.  Second, those who worship the Father must do so in Spirit and truth.  But believers need to worship together; no lone rangers.  The disciples were together in one accord in the Spirit and the apostles' doctrine.

The United Methodist Church has emphasized 'open hearts, open minds and open doors' for many years now.  Like many phases, it can mean anything until defined.  How about let's have open hearts to God, open minds to God's word, and open doors to all who seek the worship in Spirit and truth.

May we gather together in Jesus name?             - Rev. Ben Herlong
